Our PE Department are incredibly proud to announce the results of the fantastic first cricket matches for the U13s on Wednesday.
Year 7 won 325 – 272 against King’s Rochester’s B Team
Players of the Match: Emily B and Rutendo
“Year 7 demonstrated outstanding teamwork,” reported PE teacher Miss Fautley, “cheering each other on when batting, backing each other up when fielding and generally being very supportive of one another. They managed to score many fours and sixes with some powerful batting, and their bowling as a team was consistent giving away very few runs. A memorable first match representing Cobham Hall for our Year 7s.”
The Year 7 team are shown above (except Millie S)
Year 8 lost 255 – 273 against King’s Rochester’s U13 A Team
Player of the Match: Amber
This match was played at a very high standard! The bowling was fast and the batting was consistent from both teams. Cobham Hall managed to get wickets through catches and bowls. A very exciting match to watch, with some outstanding fielding when stopping fours: Alana had a fantastic ‘champagne moment’ catching a ball with one hand above her head right by the boundary.
The Year 8 team are shown below.
Mrs Hooper and Miss Fautley are immensely proud of the girls and the progress they have made in only 6 weeks. Especially playing against a school who have played cricket since year 4.
