Led by our fantastic Student Leadership Team, Spirit Week saw every day packed with activities. We send the team immense thanks for the fun-filled days we shared, making the most of the sunshine and bringing all year groups and staff closer together.
Monday brought us minigolf under blazing sunshine, with plenty of difficult short courses and fun games on West Lawn at which staff and students could try their hand. Both the lunchtime and after school events were very well attended, and certainly brought out some people’s competitive edge! The next day gave us doughnut sales, raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital with each treat purchased. Tuesday also brought a ‘Guess the Teacher’ Quiz in the Dining Hall, for all to puzzle over as they had lunch. ‘Which teacher has a black belt in karate?’, SLT’s quiz asked. ‘Who bought front row seats at Wembley for a Taylor Swift concert?’- the tricky questions sparked much debate.
Students flocked to Lady Darnley’s Garden after school on Wednesday, as the Student Leadership Team hosted a huge slip and slide event. As if the steep downhill slide wasn’t enough, it was supplemented by water balloons and water pistols, as well as a hose for constant reloads. This was followed, on Thursday, by Cultural Day. Lunchtime saw West Court filled with colour as students and staff shared the clothes and food of their heritage and cultures from all around the world. The week closed with Friday’s highly anticipated Staff v Students Rounders match on South Lawn and ice cream in the sun; winning by 10 rounders to 6, the staff did not hold back on their celebrations!
We are pleased to share with you this gallery of photos taken throughout the week. Huge thanks to the Student Leadership Team for your efforts: the last week has been fantastic and has truly succeeded in getting everyone involved.
