HALL’S MOCK ELECTION
Last Wednesday, staff and students came together as our Year 12 Politics students held their own ‘Mock Election’ in advance of the upcoming UK General Election. To open the event, Mrs Gavin explained how the current system works and gave useful context to the election.

Four brave Politics students then stood up to represent one of the main UK parties, with the candidates as follows:
Lulu-Marie – Labour Party
Melanie- Conservative Party
Zach – Liberal Democrats
Isabelle – Green Party

In an exciting and challenging hustings, each student addressed the whole School with a short speech introducing some of their party’s key manifesto pledges in an attempt to win votes. This was followed by a revealing Q&A, which provided some tricky yet interesting questions.

Cobham Hall’s ‘Returning Officer’ Dr Drumm announced the results in Friday’s General Assembly. Zach, representing the Liberal Democrats, emerged victorious. Congratulations, Zach!
