Last weekend saw four of our students compete in their first successful National Schools’ Equestrian Association (NSEA) outing. It was a very well attended event with over 150 children competing for their schools. Milly, Bella and Eliza formed the Cobham Unicorns team which competed at two levels in the Grass Roots section, and Millie competed as an individual at two levels in the Regional Point League section.
The Cobham Unicorns team was first to go and had three good rounds in their first class, with two clears and an unlucky four faults for Bella. This was enough to earn them 4th place and qualify them for the Regional Championships in December. In the second class , the girls rode three fast, clear rounds to put the team in 1st place.
Milly won the class outright as an individual, and Eliza was placed 6th individually. Both classes were very competitive with 30 in each class, so they did brilliantly to win. This means that the team has now qualified for the Regional Championships at two levels. Millie jumped a super round in the 80-85cm class to secure 4th place in a hot class of 30, which means that she also has qualified for the Regional Championships. Unfortunately, Millie did not place in her second class; however it was a step up in level for her and her pony Harry. There is no doubt that with some hard work it won’t be long until they are competitive at this level as well.
The girls worked brilliantly as a team and showed great camaraderie. The Regional Championships is held on Sunday 3rd December at Felbridge in Sussex. Congratulations to all of those who competed and good luck
