Open to the Public 2024

On certain days each year, Cobham Hall opens the House and Grounds to the public to tour. On these days, the House opens at 2:00pm, and closes at 5:00pm. The last tour begins at 4:00pm.

Historic House

Cobham Hall has a long history, dating right back to Roman times. For those interested in learning more, a souvenir guidebook is available; details can be found at the bottom of the page. A brief summary of the House’s history can be seen ‘Through the Ages’.

We are thankful for the support of the Cobham Hall Heritage Trust and the Friends of Cobham Hall Heritage Trust for the tireless support they provide.

On certain dates throughout the year we open our doors to the public. Visits to the Building and Grounds are only available on the dates detailed under the ‘Open to the Public’ section.

Cobham Hall Heritage Trust

The Cobham Hall Heritage Trust was set up in July 1985 both to protect the gardens, grounds and garden buildings of the 150-acre Cobham Hall Estate and to educate the public in their historical significance.

The Trust also protects historical artefacts belonging to Cobham Hall.

The Trust provides advice and raises funds to assist with landscape and building restoration projects. Meetings of the Trustees take place three times a year.

Friends of Cobham Hall Heritage Trust

The Friends organisation was created in 1998 to involve local people in the life and fabric of the Cobham Hall Estate and its rich heritage. It was originally formed from a group of Trustees, Cobham Hall staff and local villagers and now has over 200 members who live both locally and across Kent.

There are opportunities for members of the Friends to volunteer, working on historic projects or gardening in the grounds. All members receive free tours of the House and gardens and the bi-annual Friends newsletter (which can be seen below), as well as invitations to all events. All funds raised through the Friends are used to support projects of the Heritage Trust.

Forthcoming Events

The Friends of Cobham Hall Heritage Trust organises a programme of events which runs throughout the year, including talks, concerts and dramatic performances. Details and booking information will be displayed here once confirmed. The Friends of Cobham Hall Heritage Trust are hopeful that the following events will be able to go ahead, and more details will be made available nearer the time.
